Snowman Button Card

Well it has been a while... Today I am showing you another card that I have been working on - i was inspired by a stamp set that is obviously not Stampin' Up! (and as you know I can't say the name). I love buttons and have many many colour coded containers full of them. I wanted to incorporate buttons into one of the stamp sets and I used the punch pals stamp set and the snowman.

Thought he was very cute. I embossed him to allow a little bit of extra depth on the card.
Stamp: punch pals
Card: not quite navy; baja breeze; whisper white
Punches: corner rounder; scallop edge
Others: buttons; twine; white embossing powder

Elf Shoes CARD

Sorry that I haven't posted for a while - been busy making swaps for our upcoming Stampin' Up! regionals at the end of this month. Between doing this and looking after my 9 month year old - leaves not much time or energy for craft! But I have managed to make a few cards which I will show over the next week. There is punch art but also a couple of other cards which I have been wanting to make for a long time.

This card was cased from Marie Shaughnessy. I wanted to make this for a while but here in Australia we don't really celebrate Halloween, so instead I thought it would make a great elf shoe card. The directions for this card can be found on her blog - I obviously just changed the colours etc.

Let me know what you think.. Feel free to email me with any questions.

Penguin Candy Cane Holder Part II

For those who are visiting my blog for the first time, these are more detailed instructions for the penguin candy cane holder that I posted here.

I have given instructions on how to make the body and the "arms" for the penguin. I have used green on blue card so you can see the arms and position alot clearer. The photo in my previous post was a little hard to exactly see how the arms were positioned.

For the head I used Kim's instructions
here. For the arms I used the butterfly punch and cut this as shown in this photo. I then used an oval die (my oval was approx. 6.5cm (l) x 4.8cm (w)). I punched the slits using the slit punch. I have also drawn the position of the slit punch on the diagram below.

I then glued the arms behind the head as shown . HINT - I would suggest using extremely strong adhesive when joining the arms to the head as this piece will be subjected to slight bending . I used 2 way glue pen and it wasn't enough - possibly sticky strip?

Place candy cane in the slots that were made on the oval first. Then attach the head/arm piece to the body. This will ensure good placement so that the hands look like they are almost holding the candy cane. I used dimensionals to adhere the body/arm piece to the body.

Finish decorating as desired. I finished the tummy with a heart form the heart-to-heart punch.

Penguin Candy Cane Holder

A quick post tonight as I am about to fall asleep - been a big day here in Creative Craft Fusion Land.

This is a really cute punch art penguin that I cased from Kim and her gorgeous website.

I bought some candy canes - Yes , I am one of "those" crazy people that as soon as Christmas explodes at the shops, I am one of the first to check it out. Did I mention that i LOVE LOVE Christmas . I am really looking forward to this Christmas as it will be the first one spent with our beautiful daughter - Santa will have his work cut out for him this year!!!
I have been wanting to some how decorate those candy canes and have seen a few ideas on the Internet. But I wanted something a little cuter - why not have a penguin holding the cane. Here is what I came up with. I don't know if the photo does it justice, but he has little penguin arms that sit above the cane.
Let me know what you think!!

PUNCHES: ornament; butterfly; heart-to-hear; 1/2" circle; slit; tear drop punch (non SU)

PAPER: riding hood red; basic black; whisper white; pink pirouette; pumpkin pie

OTHER: oval die

Christmas Owl

I thought I would post a very quick and easy punch art character. I will try to post another creation before the weekend as I will be going away for a few days - my husband is in the Noosa Triathlon. So the car will be packed to the brim with his stuff and my daughters . Sometimes I wish I could just empty the whole house into our boot of our car.

The owl itself is not my idea and have seen it around - can't remember exactly but I do think I saw it on SCS. But I have added my own little touch to it - WOODLAND CHARACTER MEETS NORTH POLE. I thought this would make a cute and easy gift tag for Christmas presents.

Since I made all those tags for an upcoming class, it has inspired me to make more. Be prepared to see a few more tags in the coming weeks!!

PUNCHES: 1 3/8" circle; boho blossoms; 1/2" circle; 1/4" circle; trio flower, label ; scallop oval and used the wide oval to trim the scallop oval for hat; round tab ; corner rounder.

PAPER: kraft; riding hood red; pumpkin pie; chocolate chip; basic black; whisper white; holiday treasures dsp

STAMPS: warm words

INK: chocolate chip; riding hood red; old olive

SNOWMAN CARD

I am actually quite happy how this turned out - based on a request to make a snowman - this is my interpretation!!

Even though we have a very hot Christmas here in Australia, I still associate snowman with Christmas time and plus they are very cute to include on your cards etc.

I thought I would try a different colour combo - not quite navy, rose red and baja breeze (our current In-colour).

I used the ornament punch for the face - which I know is not currently available in Australia. I am lucky enough to have some good friends overseas. You could use a circle punch instead. I was just playing around with the punches and I saw how versatile this punch could be as faces - check out these two blogs to see more inspiration using this punch -here and here. These girls are very talented!!!

PUNCHES: 1 1/4" Square; ornament; heart to heart; crop-a-dile; 3/4" circle; word window; scallop edge

STAMPS: hostess level 1 set best yet

PAPER: baja breeze; not quite navy; whisper white; rose red, basic black; dsp ski slope(current mini catalogue)

PENGUIN TRIANGLE TREAT BOXES

Thanks once again for all the feedback. I am working on a snowman punch art at the moment - thanks to "Dragonfly Lady" for the suggestion.

Today I have made two cute triangle treat boxes. These triangle treat boxes can be found all over the web and can be made in any size you want. I used the tutorial from here. These boxes are great to give little gifts in - like chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate - DID I MENTION THAT I LOVE LOVE CHOCOLATE!!

They would be great for teacher Christmas presents, presents for children , neighbours etc. I took the idea of the boxes one more step and was inspired by Heather Summers' recent "Simply Holidays Online Class", which has just finished. She made some similar triangle treat boxes but I thought I haven't made a penguin yet and why not make it into a treat box.

I couldn't decide which penguin I liked better or what size box I liked - so the solution - post both and let you guys decide !!

Anyway below are the pictures of both of my boxes -

PUNCHES: (FOR "BABY" PENGUIN)boho blossoms; wide oval; curly label; 5-petal flower; small oval; crop-a-dile

(FOR "DADDY" PENGUIN) wide oval; 5-petal flower; large oval; scallop circle; 1/2" circle; 1/4" circle (non SU!)

ANOTHER PUNCH ART CREATION....

Hi Everyone

Thanks for all your positive comments ...gives me heaps of encouragement to make and create more !!!

Well today I am sharing with you another Christmas creation . I looked everywhere for a toy soldier - punch art of course!! But I just couldn't find one - so I decided I would give it a go. And the good news is that it worked.
After I made him, I decided to make a 2-5-7-10 box which the tutorial can be found here. I then placed him on the front.

Punches used: 1 3/8" circle; word window; 1 1/4" square; 1" circle; 1 1/4" circle; 5-petal flower; small oval; round tab; various small round circles.

PUNCH ART GINGERBREAD MAN...

Hi everyone and welcome to my very first blog - Creative Craft Fusions!!! I am passionate about two things in my life - my family and my craft. It's funny how the two things that I love the most, have now become entwined.

As a "newbie" Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I love to inspire, create and share with others. My favourite paper craft is definitely punch art. I have been "punching" for about 10 years . But I have found that Stampin' Up! has excellent user-friendly punches that can be used much more than in conjunction with your stamps!

So as well as many other ideas, you will see many more punched creations on my blog. Some even inspired by other fellow bloggers.

I can't believe it is the middle of October already and many many blogs are splashed with Christmas ideas...So.. here is one of my cards that I have made - my gingerbread man. The peppermint candy was cased , but I honestly can't remember where I saw it!

Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think of my first blog "release".

PUNCHES USED:

1 3/8" CIRCLE; WIDE OVAL; FULL HEART; HEART TO HEART; SMALL OVAL; LARGE OVAL; SCALLOP EDGE; BOHO BLOSSOMS; 1"CIRCLE PUNCH; HORIZONTAL SLOT ; 1/8" CIRCLE (CROP-A-DILE )
